Countdown Favor Tins!
December 17th, 2010This is one of those projects that has so many different uses and possibilities that I can see myself coming back to it again and again. The lovely Maddy of Somewhere Splendid and Shauna of Shauna Younge Dessert Tables have added another project to their 10 days of Craftsmas series and are sharing it with T&T readers!
This project is designed to be multipurpose. They’ve included numbers up to 18 so that they can be used for a winter wedding as escort favors (the number would reflect the table the guest would be seated at), a count down of the eight nights of Hanukah, or a count down of the twelve days of Christmas. Fill each with a different type of candy so each night gives you – and your loved ones – another sweet surprise!
MATERIALS
this printable PDF
double stick tape or label paper
these cans from SKS Bottle
assorted candies in your desired color palette
scrapbooking paper
hole punch
INSTRUCTIONS
Print out the provided PDF on plain paper or full sheet label paper. Cut each label to size. If you are using double stick tape, line the outside of each square with the tape and also make an “X” through the center to ensure it sticks.
Align the label flush with the bottom lip of the can. Starting on the left side of the label, simultaneously attach and press the label down so it sits flat on the surface of the can. Repeat for all the numbers you choose to produce.
Create homemade confetti by punching holes, one after another, in scrapbooking paper in different shades and finishes. Empty out the hole punch’s confetti catcher as needed, set aside contents, and mix all the colors together. Fill each can with a different variety of candy and confetti. Seal the can with the matching lid, then enjoy each night as you count down!
