Our Winter Wedding Part 1

February 11th, 2009

With all the love that’s in the air, it’s fitting that my husband and I celebrated our first anniversary this past weekend. I honestly can’t believe it’s been a year already! We both had so much fun at our wedding and I wish that we could go back and enjoy the day over and over. Thankfully we have our photos and I can look back as often as I like. Please join me on a trip down memory lane…

To start, I thought I’d share my inspiration board that I created right after our engagement. It’s fun to see how this translated into the actual event. I picked yellow and grey as our wedding colors because I wanted something unusual and not overly feminine. My husband definitely appreciated this and was as equally excited about the color choices. Since our wedding was in February the yellow seemed like a good bright color that could add some warmth. The grey acted as a neutral tone throughout while silver added the little extra shine.

I’m doing charcoal and yellow for my wedding next August. I’m on the hunt for some inexpensive cocktail style bridesmaid dresses in a charcoal color. What did you do for bridesmaid dresses and what dress is that in the inspiration board?

  7. Kathleen Says:

    Hi Aimee!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I still love that color combo and gives me such a thrill to see all the possibilities and variations. The grey dress in my mood board is by Jasmine Bridal. Sadly I can’t find that particular dress on their site still but Style #B3044 looks fairly close.

I ended up choosing a this black dress by Jim Helm for my bridesmaids to wear. I loved the dress but in retrospect I wish that I could have found a grey one that would have worked.

    Best of luck to you!
    Kathleen
