Dreaming Of Dexter

Friday, October 8th, 2010

I’m trying really hard not to turn Twig & Thistle into the Ty Mattson Fan Club but the guy isn’t making it easy! Case in point, these Dexter inspired posters are wonderful! Each one is like a delightful season overview with plenty of little details for fans of the show. Check them all out here.

And Baby Makes 3….Wheels

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Another great poster from the talented Allan Peters! This one was created for a poster show on bikes. Allan and his wife had just found out that they were expecting so the design was inspired by and dedicated to their little one on the way. I think the story behind it is what really makes it all that much more special. *sigh! See more images of the poster and view process shots on Allen’s site here.

Explosions in the Sky Poster

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

While not technically a 4th of July project, Micah Max‘s poster for Explosions in the Sky certainly feels festive! Especially clever is the use of Japanese masking tape for the firecrackers. Also in Micah’s own words, the long fused fireworks “…represent the band’s ability to go from quiet, shimmering beauty to bold, loud passages in an instant.” Lovely.

Lost Posters by Ty Mattson

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

I know Lost started up a couple weeks ago and to be honest I’m not as into it as I used to be, but these posters remind me of all the things that made Lost so great. Designer Ty Mattson has done a wonderful job capturing the spirit of the show, my favorite hands down is the Dharma Van; every time I see it I can’t stop thinking about Hurley bouncing around the island in it. 🙂

UPDATE: Thanks to a tip from Ty himself, these posters are now available through the store on Thanks Ty!
