Paper Covered Books

Friday, March 25th, 2011

I came across these covered books on Pinterest last week and fell in love! Liz Tamanaha of Paislee Press created these beautifully simple covers and shared a tutorial on her blog. I love how any book can get an elegant makeover with just a few easy steps. See the complete tutorial and get free downloadable labels here.

Above are some photos of a birth announcement I’ve been working on for my brother and sister-in-law. Isn’t that just the sweetest name and most precious little girl?!

Each were letterpressed onto Fluorescent White 110 lb. Lettra Paper. The Papaya Envelopes from Paper Source are lined with a matching custom liner and the photos are attached with strips of foam mounting tape for depth. I  just have to finish attaching each of the photos and then I can send them to the beautiful parents. I can’t wait and I hope they like them!

The Feedback Loop Notebook Project

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

I got an email last week form Mohawk Paper announcing the kickoff of their Feedback Loop Notebook Project. They enlisted an absolutely stellar group of designers and printers to create limited edition notebooks with all of the proceeds going to School: By Design mentoring program. Head on over to Felt & Wire Shop to see them all!

Well Branded: Gelateria

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Some beautiful work by London-based designer, Joe Stephenson. The system was designed to promote and highlight the abundant “flavors” of the Fedrigoni specialty paper showroom. With Gelato as the teaser, guests could enjoy a cool treat while collecting paper samples and getting familiar with the showroom.

I love the simplicity of the work and the playful connection between the gelato flavors and the delicious paper colors. Yumm indeed!

I am so enthralled with these paper sculptures by Daniel Sean Murphy. Made completely from paper they seem to defy reality.
