Merry Newsinator!

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

If you haven’t sent out a holiday card yet, there’s still time to delight your friends and family with some wit and humor this season! Plaid Creative just sent over their 2010 version of their Merry Newinator; a holiday greeting generator.

Completely digital and easy to complete, just answer a few simple questions and the site generates a clever and personalized digital card ready to print, email, tweet or upload to Facebook. It’s so much fun, you just might want to create more than one! *Hint, if you hit the “refresh” button you get a different design! Click here to get started and have fun!

I’ll be taking an extended break starting today and I’ll be back here after the new year. I wish you a very merry holiday and seasons greetings to all! xoxo

Truly Smitten Holiday Cards

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

I have to say, one of the best parts of the blog world is all the friends I’ve made online. I never thought I’d meet so many amazing people and make such true friends without actually ever meeting them face to face. But since I started Twig & Thistle nearly two years ago, my perspective has changed entirely.

I’m lucky enough to have connected with Sarah Kim-Puangsuvan of Truly Smitten through blog-land and we stay in touch through twitter and post comments. She’s such an amazing designer and her blog is my first visit every morning. You can only imagine how thrilled I was to receive her holiday card this year!

This two color paper ornament, adorned with an excerpt from the “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, is hand-illustrated, letterpressed and die-cut. It doesn’t get much better than this! Mailed in a red envelope and tied with red and white bakers twine, it’s possibly one of the most beautiful and favorite holiday cards I’ve ever received!

You can see more pictures of the card here and see more of Sarah’s brilliant work on the Truly Smitten Studio site. Thank you so much Sarah, I adore it! xoxox

Hornall Anderson 2010 Holiday Card

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

I’ve got a little personal project to share with you today! Rachel, of Elephantine, and I were put in charge of doing the holiday card for our office, Hornall Anderson. This year we wanted to do a lighthearted and fun New Years card showcasing all the great people who work there. I’m really happy with how they turned out. They’re letterpressed onto 110. lb Crane’s Lettra Letterpress cover then we inserted a digital print of everyone wearing 2010 glasses. Evolution Press did the printing and as always, did an impeccable job. There is also a companion site that you should definitly check out. Rachel and the interactive group did a great job putting it together!

Bonus: You can see what I did for 2009 here.
