DIY Oscar Party Part II

Friday, February 26th, 2010

★ Update! A 2012 version of Oscar printables (including an invitation and ballot) is now available. Check out the full post here!

As promised here is the rest of the goodies for the DIY Oscar Party! I thought a candy tray would be a fun way to serve your guests and what Oscar party would be complete without a ballot! Mine are designed to let guests make their predictions and keep track during the ceremony. There is a place on the back to record the final score to help you pick a winner if you’re awarding a prize. Also note, not all categories are represented due to space constraints.

Candy Bag Toppers Download
Fill 3 5/16″x5 1/8″ cellophane bags (buy) with candy and staple in the center. Print out candy bag toppers onto solid sticker paper (found at office supply stores), cut to size, fold in half the long way and affix toppers to cellophane bags. Don’t have sticker paper? Just print onto cardstock paper and affix with double-sided tape.

Candy Tray
Inspired by the candy girls at Alt, I thought a candy tray would be a perfect touch to the party. All you need is a white tray and a length of red ribbon. Tie the ends of the ribbon together. The knot should rest behind your neck and the ribbon should go under the front of the tray. Then just fix the ribbon in place with strong tape or thumb tacks!

Ballot Download
Print double-sided onto 8.5×11″ card stock and fold in half length wise. Coordinate with red pens.

★ Update! A 2012 version of Oscar printables (including an invitation and ballot) is now available. Check out the full post here!

I love movies and with the Academy Awards coming up I thought it would be fun to make an DIY Oscar party. Here’s everything you need to throw your own! From invitations and ballots to popcorn and treat bags, just print, cut and enjoy!

Invitations Download
Print onto 8.5×11″ card stock, trim to size then use a 3/4″ hole punch to notch the corners.

Envelope Liners Download
Print onto 8.5×11″ paper, trim to size and afix with glue stick to the inside of an A7 envelope.

Popcorn Bags Download
Print directly onto white 5×7″ bags, available in my Etsy shop. If you don’t have an Ink Jet or if your printer doesn’t allow you to print odd formats, you could always print the label onto sticker paper (found at office supply stores) and post apply it to the bag.

Check back tomorrow for the ballots, candy bags and one other surprise!

Hornall Anderson 2010 Holiday Card

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

I’ve got a little personal project to share with you today! Rachel, of Elephantine, and I were put in charge of doing the holiday card for our office, Hornall Anderson. This year we wanted to do a lighthearted and fun New Years card showcasing all the great people who work there. I’m really happy with how they turned out. They’re letterpressed onto 110. lb Crane’s Lettra Letterpress cover then we inserted a digital print of everyone wearing 2010 glasses. Evolution Press did the printing and as always, did an impeccable job. There is also a companion site that you should definitly check out. Rachel and the interactive group did a great job putting it together!

Bonus: You can see what I did for 2009 here.

2010 Desk Calendars

Monday, October 12th, 2009

I spotted this amazing round-up of 2010 letterpress calendars on Oh So Beautiful Paper last week and it made me realize that it’s time for me to finally narrow down my choices and commit. Since I happen to be incredibly indecisive AND I love all things letterpress this is an extremly diffucult decision for me. To ease the pain I’m thinking I’ll splurge for three; one for my desk at work, one for the fridge and another for my office at home.

This light and beatiful calendar by Delphine Press will brighten my days and keep me inspired at the office.

Elum’s beautiful Four Season’s Calendar will help liven up the kitchen and keep things simple with only four cards.

And finally, this whimsical Critter Calendar by Night Owl Paper Goods will keep me entertained with all the clever animal illustrations.

Snow & Graham 2010 Calendar

Monday, June 29th, 2009

This is a bit early to be talking next year but I read on Twitter that now has the 2010 Snow & Graham calendars available for pre-order! I am a HUGE fan and have kept each set I’ve bought because I’m incapable of recycling these mini works of art. I hope to be able to display them in some creative fashion someday. Ok, off to go make a pre-order!
