Hello and Thanks Stamps from Eat Pray Create

Hello friends! I am so sorry for being MIA most of last week. I’ve been suffering from some chronic back pain lately which has caused me some severe discomfort and numbness. Turns out I have two herniated disks which I understand can be very painful but also very common. I’m hoping physical therapy will help me get back to normal but I see a specialist later this week for more answers.

I’m looking forward to getting back to my daily schedule here on T&T and the last four days away has felt like an eternity. It’s amazing how much of my life is devoted to Twig & Thistle. The blog is like a great friend I chat with everyday and share all my favorite things with. And thanks to all of you for making it what it is and all your support. It truly means the world to me, so thank you all for visiting, reading and commenting! I fell so lucky to have so many incredible web friends!     love the stamps! sorry to hear about the herniated discs… do you have sciatica? when i was 22 i had two herniated discs and a bulging disc and had horrible sciatica for a year (which started with numbness). it’s so debilitating but PT, some steroid cortisone shots, and positive thinking helps (at least it did for me). feel better!

    Sorry to hear about your back. I had the same thing, one herniated disc and one disc bulge, physio helped but I saw the larger results from acupuncture and pilates. Acupuncture was the only thing that would ease the pain and pilates strengthened my lower core muscles which in turns helps to pull in your discs. Massage also helps at the later stages of recovery. Take care of yourself!

    Ugh, what a pain! (No pun intended…okay maybe a little.) Hopefully PT or something will work for you. I know just how you feel, I had a 5-day migraine last week and it really put a damper on my productivity. Hope you feel better soon!

    oh so sorry! I was out for three months this winter with a really bad herniated disk…it gets better. I opted to forgo the shots and just stick to eight weeks of PT – it worked! I know you’re in pain (how horrible are the mornings!!!) but I’m here to tell you it’ll get better! The therapist will show you a couple exercises to alleviate some of the sciatica and then eventually it’ll all be a distant memory!

    I turned to blogs like yours when I was on the couch for a month straight. It helps to check out all the inspiration, like these awesome stamps, to distract you from the pain:)

    Oh no! I echo those above who promise it will get better. I also have two herniated disks and just recently had my second bout with painful sciatica, including leg and foot numbness. Japanese acupuncture with Robert Weinstein and Soma massage with Kelsi Giswold (both in Seattle) have provided great relief. Keep moving as much as you can and feel better soon!

    So sorry about your back. I also had two herniated discs, one in my lower back (sciatica) and one in my neck. I tried everything and ended up having surgeries on both and haven’t had a minute of pain since and had super quick recoveries from both. I’f you like the name of an amazing neurosurgeon (he spends one month a year in Thailand doing free surgeries) let me know.
