Serene Green

April 4th, 2011

With Spring around the corner, I have dreams about redecorating my entire house. Maybe a serene space with hues of  green throughout like these images from photographer Polly Wreford. There is such a sense of vibrancy and cleanliness all while being relaxed and calming.

How about you, any plans to update or renovate for spring? We’re saving up for a new kitchen so no big plans to remodel soon, but some day…

I absolutely love that bathroom. Green is never a colour I would have thought about using! We have just this weekend purchased our first house and it is going to be a major decorating task. I love all the work from the photographers on that website, it’s given me some amazing inspiration!

Those rooms all seem like a breath of fresh air. Right now I’m dreaming of doing something with our home office. It has french doors and I hate looking into the room the way it is!

Loooove this color – probably why I made it part of my logo! 😉 I’m moving in the near future and I’m hoping to do a similar palette with my bedroom, I’m just too obsessed!

I am loving green too these days. I am in the midst of a kitchen renovation and I can not wait till it is all done. We have been with out a kitchen sink and everything else for about 2 months and just got it hooked up again on Saturday. I think I have missed the sink the most. But with that we just lost our stove..the new one is so powerful that we need to redo the electric. It is always something but I know soon it will all be done!!!!!

I love this! I recently painted my kitchen a similar green (posts to come!) and it makes everything so bright and cheery while I cook. However I’ve noticed while working on decor, it needs to be paired with white and other bright colors so it doesn’t look too dated. Just something to keep in mind!

I’m such a fan of green for the very same reason. When we first got out house, the popular color trending was chartreuse. I opted for a more “celery” version. And I always felt it to be fresh and crisp as you described. And it oddly works as a neutral too! But now i’m drawn to the richer greens and even painted 2/3 of my baby’s room in a deep grass green. It’s now my favorite room in the house.

The bathroom photo is my favorite. I love the combo of that green and white. Green definitely reminds me that spring is on its way!
