Sweet Safari
March 2nd, 2010My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I spotted this adorable 1st birthday party on The City Sage a few weeks ago. As Anne quickly points out, NO, I can NOT handle the cute!
Every detail, put together by Evan’s Mom and the event coordinator, Petite Production, is so delightful and totally sophisticated. I love the unexpected contemporary color palette used for the safari theme. Luckily for us, the talented Youkeun Oh photgraphed the whole event and captured these seriously beautiful shots. Be prepared to be totally inspired and check out all the details on his blog.

Seriously, this is the most adorable first birthday party I’ve ever seen. The party hats are cute enough to eat. And the gray pinstripe vest on little man? I simply can’t handle the stylish cuteness…my head is going to burst!

SQUEAL! Seeing the pics again sends me into a tizz! That little guy in his suit just SLAYS me.
Here’s what we should do: plan to have anderson and emerson on the exact same day (scheduled c-sections if necessary) so that we can have a joint first birthday party for them. i’m sure between the two of us we can put our heads together and come up with a party theme and details that rivals this one for cuteness!

YAY!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures of my nephew’s first birthday party! My sister-in-law was the mastermind behind all of the details and spend a lot of time and effort on this perfect party! Petite Productions was SOOO awesome in help setting up and taking down the event and Youkeun really did a great job capturing it! And I’m so happy you posted a picture of my cake pops – Aunt Sandy – that’s ME! =) I have a recipe for them up on my blog as well.
BTW, your blog is sooo inspirational and beautiful!

wow, so delicate and delightful! i agree that the palette is sophisticated, and calming as well. sort of an antidote to the chaos that i imagine a one-year-old party might bring.

This party looks so cute! I have been seeing that little elephant cutout everywhere, does anyone know the source? Is it a Cricut cutout?

Elizabeth~ The elephant is from Martha Stewart’s elephant punch! I haven’t seen any online other than from eBay. You can easily find it at any Michaels store though. Make sure to take your 40% off coupon!
Here’s the link to one from eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ELEPHANT-Martha-Stewart-Double-Craft-Punch-zoo-animal_W0QQitemZ370346217470QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item563a5acffe

I love, love, love those party hats. I did a safari theme for a baby shower but I would have loved to incorporate those somehow! Or maybe it’s just the color scheme I love? Mine is here: http://diyingtobedomestic.wordpress.com/2010/06/16/safari-baby-shower/
