Something to Chew On

Friday, January 29th, 2010

I got the sweetest email from Susan of Silverbox Creative and had a chance to check out some of their work. I just loved scrolling through their blog archives and seeing all the beautiful things they’ve done and then I came across this adorable invitation for an adult summer party celebrating Shark Week. It’s so refreshing to see a whimsical party invitation for grown ups don’t you think? And Susan tells me that they aptly served bloody mary’s as well; hysterical!

Thanks to Susan for letting me share these invites with all of you and happy Friday to everyone! I’m taking a photography class from Nicole Hill of A Little Sussy this weekend and I’m giddy with anticipation! I’ll see you all back here on Monday. xox

Sweet Things: Figs & Ginger

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

These have to be some of the most adorable pices of jewlery I’ve seen in a long while! Husband and wife Rhonda & Elijah Wyman are the creators of these handmade pieces inspired by tiny flora and fauna of the forest.

Made from brushed patina and all under $80 they’d make a great gift for someone on your list. My personal favorites are the mom pieces; every mother should such a sweet necklace of her and her little ones!

Well Branded: Julian

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

A fantastic identity system for the restaurant Julian in Kansas City by Jordan Gray Creative. Named after the chef Celina Tio’s favorite cooks, her grandfather Julian and Julia Child; I’m completely inspired by the clever use of iconography pared with the refined type. The color palette  is equally appealing and the materials evoke a natural yet sophisticated feel.

Paper Sculptures

I am so enthralled with these paper sculptures by Daniel Sean Murphy. Made completely from paper they seem to defy reality.

Color Crush: Yellow

Monday, January 25th, 2010

I had the pleasure of attending the Alitude Design Summit in Salt Lake City over the weekend and it was a blast! The confrence was branded with all kinds of yellow so I think its cheeriness (is that a word?!) rubbed off on me. I got to meet and listen to so many talented people it’s left me a bit euphoric. Happy Monday to you all and here’s to another great week!
